Keeping the guide working

A very short list remembers whether a notice has been dismissed and holds basic display settings so pages stay consistent. No personal information passes through them and the site behaves oddly when they are blocked.

Counting readers

Anonymous measurement of which entries get opened, how long they hold attention and roughly where the visit started. It exists so the re-testing schedule follows reader interest rather than our own curiosity. No individual is identified.

Crediting a registration

Follow a commercial link and the operator sets its own cookie so an account opened afterwards is credited correctly. It belongs to them under their policy, and it gives us no view of your account, your balance or your play.

Refusing all of it

Every browser blocks and clears cookies from its own settings, and nothing here depends on your agreement. Blocking measurement costs you nothing. Blocking attribution costs us the commission and costs you nothing at all, and we would rather write that down than hide it.

If anything changes

Anything beyond these three purposes is added to this page before it starts running, not after somebody notices.
